The Plugin Settings page is where you connect your SentSays account and configure key behaviors such as abandoned cart recovery, analytics, test mode, and error handling for reliable WhatsApp message delivery.

API Key Setup

To start using the plugin, you must enter your SentSays API key.

How to connect:

  1. Go to your SentSays Dashboard → Developer Tools.
  2. Generate an API key (based on your plan).
  3. Copy and paste it into the API Key field inside the plugin.
  4. Click the Check API Key button to validate if the key is working and authorized.

If the key is valid, you’ll see a success message and the plugin will activate its messaging features.

If it’s invalid, confirm that your plan supports developer access.

Test Message Functionality

After validating your API key, you can send a test message using the built-in test tool. This sends a sample WhatsApp message to a number of your choice to confirm your connection and delivery setup.

Test Mode (Safe Testing)

Use Test Mode to simulate message sending without actually delivering messages to WhatsApp.

  • When enabled, messages are not sent but are logged in the Message Logs tab.
  • This allows you to test templates, triggers, and abandoned cart flows safely.
  • When ready to go live, disable Test Mode and messages will start reaching customers via WhatsApp.

Test Mode is highly useful during development, staging, or while setting up automations for the first time.

Abandoned Cart Recovery

Enable this to automatically send WhatsApp messages to users who leave products in their cart without checking out.

Settings:

  • Recovery Delay (minutes): When the first reminder is sent after cart inactivity.
  • Max Notifications per Cart: Prevents spamming the user.
  • Notification Frequency (hours): Controls spacing between messages. Recovery stats can be monitored inside the plugin dashboard.

Advanced Settings

  • API Timeout (seconds): How long to wait before failing the API request.
  • Retry Attempts: Number of automatic retries after failure.
  • Enable Analytics: Track delivery performance, cart recovery, and more.

Debug Mode

When enabled:

  • Logs technical API and message info
  • Helps with troubleshooting issues
  • Should be disabled in production for best performance

Proper setup of the Settings page ensures that your WhatsApp messaging is tested, stable, and aligned with your automation and recovery goals.
