Before getting started with WhatsApp marketing using SentSays, make sure you meet these platform and account prerequisites.
Prerequisites for Using SentSays for WhatsApp Marketing
Before you start running WhatsApp campaigns or chatting with customers through SentSays, a few important things must be in place. These prerequisites ensure that your account is correctly set up and ready to integrate with Meta’s official WhatsApp API.
A Verified Facebook Business Account
You must have a verified Facebook Business account to use WhatsApp Business APIs. This is required by Meta and helps ensure your business identity is legitimate.
A Phone Number for WhatsApp Business
You’ll need a dedicated phone number that:
- Is not already registered with WhatsApp
- Is able to receive SMS or voice calls for verification
If the number is currently linked to WhatsApp (standard or business app), you must delete the account from the mobile app before using it with the API.
A WhatsApp Business Profile
Prepare your WhatsApp Business Profile details:
- Business name
- Logo (512x512)
- Business description
- Email address
- Website (optional)
- Industry/category
This profile will be shown to your customers when they receive messages from your business.
Embedded Signup Process via SentSays
SentSays supports the Meta Embedded Signup flow, which allows you to connect your WhatsApp account easily from the dashboard. During this process, make sure you:
- Log in with your Facebook Business Manager credentials
- Choose your verified business
- Add and verify your phone number
- Complete the account connection
Domain Setup (Optional but Recommended)
For optimal use of features like branded links or callback webhooks, we recommend:
- A custom domain
- HTTPS (SSL certificate enabled)
